Protect Yourself from Fraudulent Emails
|
* Safe Log In: It's always safe to open your web browser and type in or use your bookmark to go to the website and log in. Clicking on a link that is provided inside an unsolicited email is dangerous because you don't really know where that link is taking you.
* Greetings: Valid Emails will typically address you by your first and last name or the business name associated with your account. Fraudulent emails often include the salutation "Dear User" or "Dear Member". This isn't 100%, but it's a red flag to indicate that you should look carefully at this message.
* Email Attachments: DesigningResults emails will never ask you to download an attachment or a software program. Attachments contained in fraudulent emails often contain viruses that may harm your computer or compromise your account or even your computer.
* Request for Personal Information: If we require information from you, we will notify you in an email and request that you enter the information ONLY after you have safely and securely logged in to your account as described above in Safe Log In. We will provide a link in the email, but you should not use that link. To be safe, always open a browser window and enter the web address yourself.
Often, fraudulent emails will request details such as your full name, account password, credit card number, bank account, PIN number, Social Security Number, or mother's maiden name.
If you think that you have received a fraudulent email (or fake website), please forward the email (or URL address) to sysop@hostingwithservice and then delete the email from your mailbox. Never click any links or attachments in a suspicious email.
Doing nothing could be a problem also. If it really was a valid email from Designing Results or Hosting With Service and you do nothing you may lose service or even worse, lose your domain name. So, when in doubt, find out.
If you ever have any questions or problems with your web hosting account, please send an email message to support@hostingwithservice.com or support@designingresults.com.
There are technicians monitoring those email addresses 24/7 and will respond to hosting service questions or problems within minutes. We do have an 800 number for your convenience, but it is not monitored as closely as the email addresses. That's because it's easy for multiple locations to receive an email but difficult for your phone message to be sent to multiple locations with our current system.
